Yeah but--they're in someone else's house, someone else's bedroom.

Chuck's blushing hard now.
"Uh. Yeah."

Eh, The parents are out of town. Raleigh isn't too worried about it.

"Cool."

Chuck sort of leans back to look at him muzzily. "Is that all you have to say?"

"Mmm..."

He's getting kind of tired and dopey.

"What should I say?"

"...I dunno." Cos he doesn't it's just that he was expecting something more.

"Did you know?" That's a horrifying thought. Is that why he's being so cool?

"I could only guess. I really thought you didn't like me..I couldn't figure out why or what I'd done."

And it has sucked. A lot.

Hurt a lot too.

"I mean, but you get why I didn't tell you, right?"

Because it was utterly humiliating?

"Yeah, yeah I totally get it."

A lot of variables for Chuck. He understands that.

"I'm sleepy.."

Chuck's quiet for a minute.

"Okay." He's pretty sleepy too, lids heavy and comfortable in Raleigh's hold.

They have a date and they've had this conversation and fooled around. This is progress.

Raleigh keeps him nice and close, fingers tracing patterns against Chuck's arm before finally dropping off to sleep.

Very good indeed.

But is Raleigh gonna remember it when he wakes up?

Chuck's pretty comfy and he likes sleeping like this with Raleigh but he's still debating sneaking out in the morning.

If he tries to sneak out, Raleigh will definitely wake up. He's a light sleeper, always has been.

It'll be a little awkward, Chuck trying to get his shit and flee.

It's not--fleeing, he just doesn't wanna see if it Raleigh changed his mind.

Besides, maybe he just wants to put his pants on without waking Raleigh up.

Awkward, cause Raleigh's definitely squinting at him, shivering because now he's cold.

"Leaving me, Hansen?"

"I just wanted to put some pants on before whatsisface walks in," Chuck says quietly, even though Raleigh's awake. It's early, it's time for quiet voices.

"Not a bad idea. Toss me mine?"

He's like 80% sure that Chuck is full of shit but he'll roll with it.

He hands Raleigh his pants, it's really just polite.

He separates his shirts and puts them on one at a time, thinking.

"Last night was fun."

"Yeah. It really was."

He wiggles into his pants and tries to comb his hair.

"When are you free this week?"

Chuck smiles, crooked and small. So it wasn't because he was drunk.

"Any time."

[unbreachable]

"Wednesday?"

Nope. Not because he was drunk. And as soon as Raleigh has his pants on he's coming over and stealing a little kiss.

Chuck's kissing back because why not?

"Yeah, okay."

As long as they don't talk about Chuck's embarrassing crush.
Though something weird's rubbing Chuck the wrong way about how easily Raleigh took the fact that he had a crush on him all semester.

No reason not to kiss, really.

And if Chuck's rubbed wrong...well. Raleigh can't help that. Either he'll go out with him or he wont, and that's the end of it.

"I'll text you and we can figure out a movie."

"Okay."

He wraps his arms around him briefly and jus hugs him for a minute before pulling away. "I have to go now, though." Because he needs a shower, oh god, and to brush his teeth, and water. He needs a lot of water.

Raleigh hugs him back, gently carding his fingers through Chuck's hair before the younger boy pulls away.

"Okay. I should go home too."

Chuck lets himself sink into it for a moment, relishing the feeling of Raleigh's fingers in his hair for a brief moment.

"Cool. Text me." He winks as he leaves, very cleverly hiding his desire to flee.
